What is new in ChronoPill

Release notes for the public app. Earlier internal builds are folded into the v1.3 entry below.

v1.5.2 - Tidier Today, Germany database
2026-08-27

A focused release: the Today list stays short on busy days, and Germany's official medication register joins the offline country packs.

New

Germany database (BfArM / AMIce) New
The complete official German register: 321,625 products harvested from BfArM's AMIce portal, searchable offline with per-product links to the official source page. About 120 products temporarily show "not_found" clinical fields due to an upstream BfArM portal incident - the complete pack is republished server-side as soon as the source is repaired, no app update needed.

Improved

Today and History stay tidy Improved
Beyond three dose cards, Today collapses the rest into a "+ N more doses" row that opens the full pending list. History days start collapsed with a dose count per day - tap to expand.
v1.5.1 - Per-medication AI, new countries
2026-08-24

Enhanced AI is now opt-in per medication: nothing is AI-enhanced or sent anywhere until you switch it on for that specific med, from its card. The global master switch in Settings stays as the overall gate. This release also brings the app to three new languages and two new country databases, and pauses Canada/UK while their official-text licensing is finalized.

New

Enhanced AI, per medication New
A dedicated toggle on each medication card activates AI enhancement for that medication only - cleaned text variants and verified field fills. Off by default; your other meds are never sent or enhanced. Stored AI content stays on your record and is simply hidden while the toggle is off.
Spain and Italy databases New
Official country packs from AEMPS CIMA (Spain, 25,343 products) and AIFA (Italy, 12,467 products), searchable offline with per-product links to the official source documents. Germany (BfArM) is in preparation. Canada and the UK packs are temporarily out of the build while we finalize licensing of their official texts - already-downloaded packs keep working.
App in 9 languages New
Full UI localisation adds German, Spanish and Italian to the existing English, British English, French, Canadian French, Arabic and Japanese.

Improved

Verified provenance everywhere Improved
Every AI-filled field now links to the official regulator page the claim was verified against, and country packs carry per-product source links (DailyMed, ANSM, AEMPS, AIFA, PMDA, AMMPS) so every clinical statement can be checked at the source.
v1.3 - Super Lazy Mode
2026-05-24

The biggest UX overhaul since launch. Super Lazy Mode reduces the per-medication setup time from about ninety seconds to under ten for the recurring cases, and adds a Lock Screen presence so you never have to unlock to see what is due next. Everything ships behind a single opt-in master toggle so users who prefer the manual flow are not disrupted.

New

Super Lazy Mode New
Master toggle in Settings > Interface. When on, ChronoPill pre-fills medication frequency, meal timing, low-stock threshold, and color from the drug's ATC class. Eight per-category toggles in the dashboard let you keep the master on but disable specific behaviours.
Lock Screen Live Activity New
Pin the next pending dose to the Lock Screen and to the Dynamic Island on iPhone 14 Pro and newer. The activity updates as you take or skip doses. Tap it to open ChronoPill straight to the Today tab.
Privacy redaction on Lock Screen New
Nested toggle under Lock Screen Live Activity. When on, the Lock Screen banner shows "Medication / Reminder / 09:00" instead of the actual drug name and dose. Anyone who picks up the locked phone cannot read the medication.
Sleep-aware reminder times New
ChronoPill reads your median wake and bed times from Apple Health and replaces the default 09:00 / 21:00 reminder hours with your actual schedule. Optional sub-toggle defers non-critical reminders that fall in your sleep window to the wake hour. Safety-critical classes always fire at the original time.
Travel auto-prompt New
When your device detects you are in a different country, ChronoPill offers Travel Mode for that destination in one tap. Symmetric prompt when you return home.
Religious fasting auto-prompt New
On the first day of Ramadan or Yom Kippur, ChronoPill offers to switch Fasting Mode on for the appropriate window. Dates come from the system Islamic Umm al-Qura and Hebrew calendars.
Apple Health import: allergies and conditions New
If your iPhone is linked to a US or EU health system (Epic MyChart, Kaiser, Mayo, etc.), import your patient-recorded allergies and conditions directly into your Health Profile. ChronoPill parses the FHIR resources on-device, nothing is transmitted off-device.
Apple Watch wrist double-tap New
On Apple Watch Series 9 / Ultra 2 and newer running watchOS 11, mark a dose taken with the system double-tap gesture (touch index finger and thumb together twice). Older Watches keep the on-screen Take button.
"Use X times" cluster chip New
When you add a medication and another active med has the same frequency, a chip appears in the schedule section showing the existing med's times. One tap copies them.
Conditions auto-suggest from active meds New
Your Health Profile suggests medical conditions implied by what you take (statin -> Hyperlipidemia, metformin -> Type 2 Diabetes, levothyroxine -> Hypothyroidism, etc.). Tap any chip to add it.
Lazy Mode dashboard New
One screen lists every Lazy Mode behaviour with its own toggle, the values currently inferred for you (sleep anchors, medication count with ATC defaults, conditions suggested), the Live Activity status, and the safety carve-out list. Access via Settings > Interface > See what is auto-filled.
Visible Lazy Mode indicator on Today header New
A small violet sparkles chip next to "Good morning" / "Good evening" tells you Lazy Mode is on. Tap to open the dashboard.

Improved

Dose confirmation is now 1.5 seconds in Lazy Mode Improved
Down from 5 seconds. A 5 second undo toast at the bottom catches accidental taps. Both behaviours opt in / out independently in the dashboard.
Interaction warning sheet morphing CTA Improved
Toggle the "I acknowledge" switch and the "Don't Add" button morphs into "Add", tinted with the highest-severity colour. Persistent X close button in the top-right corner.
Six new demo-relevant drug interactions Improved
Lisinopril + Ibuprofen, Sertraline + Aspirin, Sertraline + Ibuprofen, Aspirin + Ibuprofen, Lisinopril + Aspirin, Metformin + Ibuprofen. Brings the bundled interaction database to 199 entries.

Safety

Safety carve-out list for Lazy Mode inference Safety
Six ATC classes are never silently pre-filled even when Super Lazy Mode is on: insulins, anticoagulants (warfarin, DOACs), antiepileptics, opioids, oncology, and glucocorticoid taper. The dashboard shows the full list under "Never auto-filled".
Sleep defer respects safety Safety
When Defer-During-Sleep is on, safety-critical medications still fire at the user-set time. Reminders that could matter at 02:00 are never silenced.
Live Activity circuit breaker Safety
If a future ActivityKit regression ever crashes mid-request, ChronoPill detects the interrupted launch on the next start and disables the Live Activity path. The user re-enables it from the dashboard whenever they choose to retry.

Defaults

Super Lazy Mode now defaults to off on first launch
All automation is opt-in. Returning users keep their saved preference; new installs see the toggle off and discover Lazy Mode by tapping the Settings > Interface section.
